Miranda + Jason
There’s nothing like NYC anytime but especially in the fall. Is it still considered the fall when it’s literally snowing right now? yes, and you’ll never change my mind. Dumbo is the most beautiful location for an engagement shoot. Right on the waterfront with stunning views of the city, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge, like the PERFECT location. Getting there from Jersey is always a little struggle. The traffic ya know, but honestly this day couldn’t have been better, only two cars brutally cut me off and I didn’t feel like I was going to fall off the Brooklyn Bridge once, so I say, success.
Once I arrived, I had the absolute pleasure to photograph one of my best friends in NYC with the love of her life! Jason had planned a surprise proposal for months prior. He had the most stunning ring made with the help of Miranda’s father, look at these photos, STUNNING. Jason was also sure to reach out so that myself and my wife could be part of their big day. This meant the world to me, the love I have for Miranda is the type that doesn’t come by often. When I met her I was new to the States, I had just gotten my work authorization and I got a job at the Sephora she worked at. She taught me that I was able to make friends in this country, that I could build a life here that I craved so deeply. She taught me to have fun again, truly.
Safe to say I wanted to deliver beautiful photos of these two humans I adore so much. I had about 30 minutes of light left when I started shooting and I think we made some magic. We started at the waterfront in DUMBO, walked overththe famous carousel (I’m so obsessed with the carousel photos) and some Manhattan bridge views. We ended the evening at a little mexican restaurant nearby and that’s where we got those fun red-ish toned bar photos!
Wishing the happiest engagement to Miranda + Jason!
